His landmark Black Panther run helped define the modern T’Challa: a brilliant strategist and formidable king whose plans were rarely what they seemed. Priest brought political intrigue, biting humor, and intricate storytelling to Wakanda, creating a run that remains essential reading for Black Panther fans.
His influence reaches far beyond Wakanda. Priest helped launch Milestone Media and co-created Static, the hero who went on to headline Static Shock. He also co-created the cult-favorite Quantum and Woody with artist M.D. Bright and delivered an acclaimed 50-issue Deathstroke run at DC.
From Spider-Man vs. Wolverine, Conan the Barbarian, and Deadpool to Vampirella, Black Adam, and Superman: Lost, Priest’s career spans generations of readers—and some of the most memorable characters on their shelves.
