Carmen Costa is a writer and educator from the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey Area. He founded Harpoon Creative Industries and published Issue #1 of Proctor in 2023 with two intentions: First, he wanted to launch a comic that told a story about love, loss, and tragedy using his favorite monsters in a way that seemed uncommon in today’s comic book landscape. Second, he wanted to set in motion a plan to bring independent publishing to the Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey area that sat juxtaposed to traditional publishing.
