Ve Neill is one of the most accomplished and influential makeup artists in motion-picture history. Across a career spanning several decades, she has helped create some of cinema’s most recognizable characters, creatures and transformations.

Neill received Academy Awards for her work on Beetlejuice, Mrs. Doubtfire and Ed Wood, earning eight Oscar nominations throughout her career. Her work also helped shape the unforgettable appearances of Edward Scissorhands, Captain Jack Sparrow, the vampires of The Lost Boys and characters throughout The Hunger Games franchise.

Her credits extend across films including Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Batman Returns, Galaxy Quest, Hook, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and A Star Is Born. Television audiences also know Neill as a longtime judge on SYFY’s special-effects makeup competition series Face Off, where she helped evaluate and mentor a new generation of artists.

In addition to her three Academy Awards, Neill has received a BAFTA for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Emmy recognition for The Shining and Pee-wee’s Playhouse, multiple Saturn Awards and the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Lifetime Achievement Award.
